The default for funerals is black–but does that represent what you actually want?
Each week we highlight the results from a question that is on one of our CAKE cards.
(The majority of the “other” answers were “I don’t care” or “wear whatever you want,” which is kind of just another “No” answer)
Most people said that they would not want people to wear black to their funeral, but that is actually what most of us would wear unless told otherwise: funeral attire generally defaults to black. If that is not what you want, then you have to make sure to let your loved ones know. It is unlikely that your friends and family would show up to your funeral in bright colors, patterns, costume, or sweatpants unless they were sure that it was what you wanted. Some of users want people to wear bright colors, or their favorite color; others want people to party clothes. Remember–there is no right or wrong answer here, it’s just a matter of thinking about your preference and communicating that to your loved ones. CAKE can help you do this!
