CAKE: our startup’s year-end update

To everyone in our amazing community:

Thank you for helping us test Cake.  We have been floored by your response: thousands of people have signed up for Cake since we launched in the fall!

We could not have done this without you.  Your feedback and thoughts are so important to us, and your input helps us shape how we can make our tools and services as helpful as possible.  We know that we are on the right track to building tools that are easy-to-use, and to creating a meaningful platform for reflection. We also know that we still have a ways to go, and we are working very hard to make sure that Cake can be your single source of truth for storing your end-of-life preferences, as well as your trusted resource for all things related to end-of-life.

You can visit our testimonials page to see what other users are saying.  We are always listening, so let us know your thoughts.

In the last couple of months, we’ve gotten great press: Huffington PostInverseBoston MagazineBostInnoBetaBostonBoston.com, MedCityNews.  We are so grateful that so many people are as excited as we are about having a new way to engage with our mortality.

We’ve also been accepted into the brand new Liberty Mutual Startup Accelerator and invited to be a part of the InTeahouse startup community.  These partners help us deliver even more value to our users, and we have many more partnerships in the works that will come on line in 2016.

If you haven’t already, please feel free to sign up for access to the application.  If you’ve completed all the Cake cards in the app, you might want to try out a consultation with an end-of-life planning expert through our Concierge service.  Our experts can help you dive deeper into your values and preferences, answer your questions, and give you guidance on suggested next steps.

Let’s all work together to re-position death in our lives and in our society so that we can all live our best lives.

From everyone on the Cake team: we look forward to seeing you all in 2016!

Warm wishes for the new year,

Suelin
